Ammannati, Bartolommeo
o Bartolommeo Ammanati

(18 jun. 1511, Settignano, cerca de Florencia–22 abr. 1592, Florencia).

Escultor y arquitecto italiano. Se formó con Baccio Bandinelli en Florencia y Jacopo Sansovino en Venecia. En 1550 se trasladó a Roma, donde colaboró con Giorgio Vasari y Giacomo da Vignola en la construcción de la Villa Giulia. En 1555 regresó a Florencia, donde pasó el resto de su carrera trabajando para los Médicis. Terminó la Biblioteca Laurenciana, comenzada por Miguel Ángel, pero es más conocido por el puente de Santa Trinità y por sus agregados al palacio Pitti de Filippo Brunelleschi, entre ellos el patio. Sus edificios marcan la transición del Renacimiento clasicista al estilo barroco más exuberante.
